Reminisces: Part I |
|
This will be a three-part series that will
give all of you a little history about how Pringle Development started
and how we have become the award winning community developer we are
today. These articles are written by George Pringle himself and will
give all of you a real feeling of how a family business that started
with integrity and a dream became a success story.

Those Who've Come Before You |
|
When Dan and Judy Bernard saw the opportunity to live directly on the
shores of Little Lake Harris, they decided to become a member of the
Royal Harbor community. The Bernards are great lovers of the outdoors,
and most of their activities take advantage of the warm temperatures
that make Central Florida so attractive.
Dan was born in Marion, Kansas, and Judy was born in Kansas City,
Missouri. They met while in college, and began married life in Kansas
City. They moved to Wichita during the early '80s, and then to Laguna
Niguel in Southern California before coming to Florida in 2003.

Resident Reflections: Time to Catch Up! |
|
During the many years that working took up most of our time, volunteer
work or other "fun" activities were quite limited. Spare time was used
to catch up on chores and caring for the children, driving the kids to
school, to a baseball game or other activities. Years were spent
providing for other members of the family, and we never seemed to get
everything done that we wanted to squeeze into each day.
In later years, after the kids are grown and have left the nest, it's
time to put away the work clothes and focus on what we'd like to do with
our own time. As mentioned in last month's Dreamscapes, volunteerism is
one good way to use our free time. Another is to partake of the many
activities that are an important part of living in a retirement
community.

Salvatore's Gourmet Market and Cafe |
|
There's a lot of building going on around Clermont these days, including
new stores and restaurants. One of the area's newest (and very popular)
restaurants is also a market and a cafe.
Salvatore's Gourmet Market & Cafe opened in October 2004. The attractive
building was once a church, as seen by the beautiful stained glass
windows left in place as part of its unique decor. The restaurant
features an outdoor dining patio and a bright, spacious dining area. As
the name implies, diners can enjoy lunch or dinner, as well as browse
through the gourmet shop and deli.

Marilyn Sugarman's Hand Painted Tiles |
|
In
the November 2003 issue of Dreamscapes, we had a feature article about
the Pancake Breakfast at beautiful Royal Harbor. We included a
photograph of a tiled picture displayed in the Kitchen at the Royal
Harbor Great Hall. These tiles were hand painted by Marilyn Sugarman, a
resident of Royal Harbor. She graciously donated this wonderful work of
art, and had plenty of help from team members to install the tiles.
This is just one of many fun activities that the residents at Royal
Harbor share as a community.
