Those Who’ve Come Before You:
Tom and Judy McFall

Back to Articles

It’s the height of the softball season here in Central Florida, and Tom McFall, a resident of Legacy of Leesburg, is very busy serving as Manager of one of the community’s teams. He is also the Chairman of the Softball Committee.

Tom was born in Poteau, Oklahoma, and his wife Judy was born in Chicago, Illinois. They spent most of their married life in the Denver, Colorado area. After serving 4 years in the Navy as a 3rd Class Petty Officer, Tom gained a lot of experience coaching Little League, other sports teams, and as an official for high school football. Tom spent 40 years in the banking industry, beginning as a teller and attaining the position of Operations Supervisor for the First Bank of Colorado before retirement. Judy was also a teller at the same bank as Tom for 4 years. Taking a break to raise their two sons, she returned to Lakeside National Bank in Denver and became a supervisor of tellers for 24 years before retiring in 2001.

In 2002, the McFalls came to Legacy and since then, have become active in the community. Tom enjoys golfing, is a committee representative of the Sun and Fun League, and is Treasurer of the group that recycles aluminum cans at Legacy. Judy is Coordinator of the Water Aerobics group, meeting with them about three times a week, and enjoys helping Tom out on the softball field at the concession stand during the games. When time permits, Judy likes reading, playing cards and playing bingo and bocce.

The McFalls became familiar with Pringle Development by requesting information from an ad in AARP magazine. After exploring other parts of the country for their retirement home, they decided that Central Florida had the most to offer. Judy had lived in Florida as a young girl, so she was familiar with its ideal climate. When Tom and Judy decided on purchasing a lot in Legacy it was a relatively new community and at the time, there was a large selection of lots. They were impressed with the Pringle reputation, the small town atmosphere of nearby Leesburg, and the ability to reach either coast easily from the area.

We felt that Pringle Development builds a top-notch quality home and we are very satisfied with the ability to make changes when we designed our home.We found that there is a lot to do here, and we have become very active in the community as a result.
- Tom McFall
