When Anne and Roger Schultz first arrived at Royal Harbor, they knew that it was the perfect community in which to settle. The close proximity to the many lakes in the county, along with the overall design of the community is what attracted them to build their retirement home close to Lake Harris.
Both Roger and Anne were born in Detroit, Michigan, and they first met each other at an ice skating rink and were high school sweethearts. After they married, they lived in both Michigan and Ohio. Roger began a career with General Motors as a Warranty Analyst and retired as their Assistant Regional Service Manager after 30 years of service.
Anne was also employed by GM, working in a clerical position in the Salary Personnel Inventory Section. She remained at home raising their children, and eventually returned to the working world as a Program Director of the Washington Court Racquet Club for 10 years and received her Ohio Realtor’s license before her retirement.
Roger enjoys both boating and fishing and on occasion, plays golf and tennis, and can be seen walking and biking daily with Anne. Anne serves as a leader once a week for the water aerobics class at the Recreation Center pool, and enjoys the indoor exercise class. Anne feels that she and Roger are in better shape now than before their retirement due to their active lifestyle.
Roger and Anne became interested in Florida living as a result of visiting Roger’s dad, who is now 92 years young and lives in Largo, Florida. They planned on visiting a number of communities in different states between Michigan and Florida, but became interested in looking at a Pringle community when they saw an ad in the AARP magazine.
In addition to the nearby lakes, Roger and Anne enjoy meeting their neighbors who have come from many parts of the country. They feel that the community has a wide diversity of talented people, who provide new ideas for the many activities that take place daily at the Recreation Center. They noted that the many clubs already formed are open to anyone, and they feel very comfortable and happy with the Royal Harbor community.
