We've
never done a survey, but it would be interesting to find out how many
people actually see their retirement dreams come true. With a mission
statement that focuses on "fulfilling retirement dreams", the folks at
Pringle Development are always happy to hear stories like that of Ken
and Karole Secora - two of our newest neighbors at Royal Harbor.
Ken and Karole lived in a very rural part of
southern Wisconsin, where their closest neighbors were quite some
distance away. They were born and raised just west of Milwaukee, near
Genesee Depot in Waukesha County, Wisconsin. Ken was employed as a
Production Supervisor for RTE/Cooper Power Systems in Waukesha, WI for
15 years. He also operated an office cleaning business, and for the last
11 years before arriving in Florida, he worked for a local school
district in maintenance and as a day substitute.
Karole was a stay-at-home mom, taking care
of their five children and serving as a full time bookkeeper and manager
for Ken's cleaning business. They are proud to say that all of their
children are doing quite well. Their four sons have careers as a
superintendent of surveying services for a construction company, a
NASCAR speedway technician, an electrical engineer for GE Medical
Systems, and a CAD design engineer also at GE. Their daughter is a
stay-at-home Mom, caring for two of their beautiful granddaughters. The
Secoras have a total of nine grandchildren, with another expected
shortly.
Ken and Karole only recently moved into
their new Royal Harbor home, so they are still "setting up shop", so to
speak. They try to spend a little time each day emptying boxes, but they
are also allowing plenty of time for social activities and hobbies. They
are thoroughly enjoying the process of meeting their new neighbors, many
of which have extended a warm welcome.
As they settle in, Ken is making plans to
focus his energies on fishing, photography, amateur "Ham" radio,
bowling, yoga, table tennis, and maybe a just a few handyman projects.
Karole enjoys bowling, swimming, reading, and gardening - and of course,
shopping.
The Secoras were first introduced to Pringle
Development after searching the internet for retirement communities.
After looking at some lterature, they decided to explore the area. They
liked what they saw in Central Florida, and they enjoy being close to
both coasts, as well as the attractions in the Orlando area. "The
lifestyle change from being somewhat isolated, to being a part of an
active, social, and friendly community, was the greatest surprise. It
was like meeting instant family and friends here at Royal Harbor.", said
Ken.
Ken and Karole said that their retirement
dream was to enjoy the benefits of a warmer climate; to live in a place
where they could enjoy a year-round, outdoor life-style. If you were to
ask them today, they'd probably tell you that they are living their
dream at Royal Harbor.
