Finding
Rochelle Moore of Royal Highlands is usually pretty easy. She loves the
sun and she loves to exercise. So, as a “Sun Worshipper”, you will often
find her near the swimming pool, either reading or “soaking up the
rays”. In fact, she’s found a way to participate in three hobbies all at
the same time! She exercises by “pool-walking” in the outdoor pool,
while reading her favorite book and improving on her tan. Talk about
multi-tasking!
Rochelle is a native of Chicago, Illinois, but came to Florida after
living in Raleigh, NC for a number of years. She began working for the
Black and Decker Company in Chicago, and was eventually promoted to the
position of Supervisor of Physical Distribution for them in Raleigh.
Before retiring, she completed a total of 26 years of service with Black
and Decker.
Over
the years, she has done extensive traveling, having visited Greece,
France, Germany and Spain. She also looks forward to the annual family
reunions that take place in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She also
enjoys spending time with her five children, two of whom live in
Charlotte, NC, two in Raleigh, and one in Ohio. She is the grandmother
of nine grandchildren.
Rochelle is one of a group of teachers for the Aquacize group that meets
daily at the pool. On cloudy days, she helps organize the community
craft shows that are held twice a year. She also runs “Community Movie
Night” twice each month, and she is an active member of the Red Hat
Society.
When
it was time to look for a retirement home, Rochelle was attracted to
Florida for two reasons; its proximity to her family and its endless
supply of sunshine! She began her search along both the East and West
coasts, but was eventually steered toward Leesburg, and soon fell in
love with Royal Highlands. Because she enjoys living in a larger home,
she chose the Majestic model, then enlarged some of the rooms and raised
the roof. Her lot is near the top of one of the hills, overlooking the
golf course. She says the “people here are really, really nice”, and she
is obviously enjoying the climate!
