Alternative Sailing
Sailing can be a very enjoyable pastime. It
provides a chance to get away from the pressure of daily life and it
allows one to enjoy the great outdoors. But for many, it isn’t practical
or possible to purchase, maintain and transport a large sailboat that
might only be used on occasion.
When you pass Royal Harbor on almost any
Monday afternoon, you will see an alternative way to enjoy sailing
without the drawbacks of owning a full-size vessel. Lake Laemont is
located adjacent to the main entrance of Royal Harbor. This is where you
are most likely to see the scaled-down, model sailing vessels gliding
along the surface. You will also see a group of residents along the
shore of the lake, carefully controlling the vessels’ movements. This is
the Royal Harbor Model Yacht Club.

Lifestyle Adjustments
As I look back over the years that we’ve been living in a Pringle home,
it seems hard to believe that it has been 12 years since we moved to
Florida from up north. We had some reservations about leaving our
previous home of 30 years in the New York City area. We also had doubts
as to where to settle, what builders to consider, what size home to
build, and how far from our grown-up children and grandchildren we
should be living. A lot had to be considered before we could be sure
that Florida living was right for us.
Our first introduction to Pringle Development was through a relative who
had already compared several Central Florida developers before deciding
to invest in a Pringle home. During a brief vacation, we visited their
empty lot before construction had begun. We then decided to take a
closer look at the area to see if we wanted to follow suit. To avoid
being influenced by our relative’s decision, we decided to study other
developers in the area before looking at any Pringle homes.

The “Great Wall” Offers A Pleasant Atmosphere and Great Food!
When we hear the term “Great Wall”, most people think of the Great Wall
that was built thousands of years ago in China. Here in Leesburg, it
refers to a Chinese restaurant that is located on Route 27 in the
Southside Plaza. It’s called “Great Wall Authentic Chinese Restaurant”,
and it’s well worth a visit.
This quiet little restaurant has been at this location for several
years, but it has been under new management for the last year and a
half. It is a simple, storefront restaurant, but it is attractively
decorated with colorful tapestries, sculptures and Chinese lanterns.

For Dan & Bonnie Taylor, Being Good Neighbors Comes Naturally
“How Can I Ignore the Boy Next Door?” is the opening line of a popular
song, and it had special meaning for Dan and Bonnie Taylor of Royal
Harbor. That’s because they met many years ago while they were next-door
neighbors in Homewood, Illinois. As they got to know each other better,
they decided to spend the rest of their lives together as husband and
wife.
Bonnie was born in Chicago, but was raised in Homewood, while Dan grew
up in Bloomington, Illinois, and moved to Homewood after completing high
school. As a married couple, they lived in Glenwood, Illinois for about
5 years, but eventually moved back to Homewood because their superior
school system would benefit their son Scott. After 26 years, they decide
to move to Royal Harbor to enjoy their retirement years.
