Those Who've Come Before You... |
|
For Paul and Kathy Lautenschlegar, becoming a resident of Royal Harbor
"exceeded our expectations." They moved into their new home in June of
2002 and immediately found the residents to be warm and cordial.
Paul and Kathy became familiar with Florida after spending winters on
both the east and the west coast, but were unhappy with the heavy
traffic. In their search for a retirement home, they decided that
Central Florida was the area to check out. A Pringle ad in the Where to
Retire magazine introduced them to the benefits of a Pringle home, and
they are very happy to have joined the Royal Harbor community.

Happy Birthday Pringle.com |
|
On
March 20th, Pringle.com celebrated its 10 year anniversary on the web!
This is quite a milestone, when you consider that in 1995, many of
today's Internet stalwarts such as Google and eBay had not yet been
formed. I'm sure that Pringle's Potato Chips would love to own the "Pringle.com"
domain name, but we got there first! As a result, we were one of the
first builders in the country with a website.
This
example of "leading the charge" is not an isolated example, or a case of
random luck. Rather, it is the result of a corporate culture we have
fostered and encouraged from the day Pringle Development was founded. We
made a conscious decision to utilize technology to the fullest extent in
order to maximize productivity. We've never had a problem with "keeping
up with the Jones" of the technology world; if anything, our problem has
been to avoid crossing the line beyond "leading edge" and crossing into
"bleeding edge," where one adopts technology before it's ready for day
to day production use. There have been many examples of this philosophy
in action over the years, including these:

The Culinary Couple: Lil Anthony's Pizza |
|
Follow the crowd! That was our lunch experience recently at Lil
Anthony's New York Style Pizza Restaurant. Opened about a year ago, we
always noticed the parking lot was full during lunch and supper hours - surely an indication of a successful dining establishment.
Located on Highway 27 in nearby Minneola, partners Marina, a New Yorker,
and Kellie, who comes from the south, decided on a New York City theme
for their restaurant. There are posters, a subway map, and assorted
miniature cars throughout the building, which seats 75-80. The tables
themselves are unique, as they are boxed in with various memorabilia and
a clear Plexiglas top for viewing. License plate-type signs name the
theme of each table, such as "N.Y. Taxi" or "Grand Central Station."

Bob Ross Painting Techniques |
|
The residents of Royal Harbor have the opportunity to learn oil painting
by attending a monthly Bob Ross instructional class. On the first Friday
of the month, from 12:30-3:30 PM, Kay Lenherr, a certified Bob Ross
instructor, guides residents in the "art" of oil painting. Kay is
certified to teach landscaping, floral, wildlife and/or portraits There
are presently more than 1500 instructors nationwide.
Kay begins each class by showing the first steps in starting a painting.
Students then work on his or her own while Kay assists each student
individually. Kay then demonstrates the next step on her own painting,
and again, the students work on their own to complete that step. When
the painting is completed, students sign their work and choose a frame
for their masterpiece. Kay explains how different frames can bring out
certain colors in the painting, such as a blue frame to enhance the
color of a lake. At the end of each session, Kay photographs the group
with their paintings.
