Resident Reflections...

Spending more than six weeks up north during the winter months is pretty tough for a full time Florida resident. It means wearing heavy coats, boots and gloves to brave the cold freezing temperatures instead of enjoying the pleasant warmth of Central Florida

For us, it became necessary to do just that when close family relatives needed our help. From the beginning of the holiday season until well into February, we missed some of the many outdoor activities that take place down south. In January, there are outdoor festivals, car shows, flea markets, sporting events, outdoor eating places, even gardening activities that can be enjoyed in the warm pleasant temperatures that make Florida living so attractive.

Those Who've Come Before You...

Pringle Development Residents
Chuck and Oneta Lippert

Before Chuck and Oneta Lippert decided to build in Legacy of Leesburg, they spent many months searching along the east and south coasts. They sold their home in Virginia, stored their furniture, and drove south along the east coast in their search. When they visited friends in Florida, they were introduced to a Pringle community, but they continued on with their search as they drove along the southern coast to Texas. At that point, they decided that the best option was to return to Florida and build their home in a Pringle community.

Chuck was born in Helena, Montana and Oneta was born in Thacker, West Virginia. They met while Chuck was stationed at Camp LeJeune. Chuck worked in the U.S. Marine Corps in Signals Intelligence/Ground Electronic Warfare and after serving in this capacity for 23 years, he worked as a Defense Contractor providing Defense Intelligence work.

Women's Club

When it comes to socializing, the Women’s Club at Royal Harbor is just as active as any other community activity. The Women’s Club was formed by Pam Miles in 2003. As the club grew, a variety of programs of interest to the women of the community were included in the monthly meeting.

A special project that the Women’s Club has undertaken is the collection of donated items which are then shipped to relatives of Royal Harbor residents that are serving in the Middle East. They are boxed by the women and taken to the Post Office to be sent overseas. A list of the needed items is provided both on the internet and posted at the Recreation Center. Monetary donations from residents are used to pay for the shipping of these items.

Jeffrey Paul's Chophouse

One of the many reasons we enjoy living in Central Florida is that there is a plethora of restaurants available to us.

On a WARM February evening (over 70 degrees), my spouse and I enjoyed a delicious dinner at Jeffrey Paul’s Chophouse located in Eustis. This restaurant, which opened on Friday, the 13th of May, 2005, has quickly established itself as a special place to enjoy not only excellent food, but beautiful presentation and attentive service. The ambiance of a relaxed atmosphere, candle-lit tables and soft music from a digitized piano added to the ambiance.
