Rolling Out The Red Carpet...In More
Ways Than One |

Pringle Development’s “Red Carpet Treatment” Is Felt At Every Point of
Contact
What do we mean when we say that visitors to
a Pringle community receive the “Red Carpet Treatment”?
According to one source (Marvin Terban,
“Dictionary of Idioms”, 1996), rolling out the red carpet originated
from the ancient custom of putting down a red carpet, over which
important dignitaries would walk when they arrived. This was an honor
bestowed on kings and other members or royalty, to avoid having their
feet touch the ground like mere mortals.
At Pringle Development, providing “Red
Carpet Treatment” is a matter of hospitality and respect. It actually
begins the moment you contact the Customer Information Center with
questions about a Pringle home or community. It continues all the way
through to our sales, design and construction staff.

Presidential Artifacts, Memorabilia and Replicas - All On Display Right
Here In Central Florida
Many of us will never have the opportunity to visit “our house”, the
White House in Washington, D.C., much less peer into the private areas
of this national symbol.
Located in nearby Clermont, adjacent to the Citrus Tower on Route 27, is
the “House of Presidents”, which was originally built and opened by Jack
Toole in 1962. This museum contains a collection of artifacts from all
42 presidents and first ladies showcased throughout the building.
Inaugural ball gowns, dinner china, Christmas cards and ornaments, and
commemorative Easter eggs are all on display. A replication of Abe
Lincoln’s face and hands created in 1860 is one unusual example of the
memorabilia collected over many years. There are life-size wax figures,
miniature figures, as well as pictures of each president. Some of the
earliest first ladies also left recipes such as (Dolly) “Madison Cakes”.

“Retirement” Can Become A Catalyst For Creativity
For Claude Giguere of Royal Highlands, retirement didn’t mean that he
had to stop using his engineering skills. He simply refocused his
training and experience to help the physically challenged enjoy a very
popular sport.
Claude was born in Montreal, and his wife, Sharon, was born in
Centerline, Michigan, located near Detroit. They lived in Sterling
Heights, MI for many years before coming to Florida. Claude spent 4
years in the U.S. Air Force, working with computers and radar for NORAD,
and then became employed by General Motors in the Fisher Body Division
for 27 years. He was involved in the planning and construction of their
assembly facilities. After retiring from GM, he served as a volunteer at
the Plumbrook Elementary School for 7 years.

Fifth Avenue Cafe and Market
Lately, we’ve been hearing more about things like “mad cow disease”,
“bird Flu”, and recalls of some mass-produced foods. As a result, some
people are looking for organic options - foods grown without the use of
chemicals, pesticides, dyes and additives.
Well, now there is a delightful restaurant in Mt. Dora that caters to
those who seek “clean cuisine” - the 5th Avenue Cafe and Market, which
is located just opposite the park in the downtown area.
