If you thought that Pringle communities consist of mostly couples, a look at a list of residents will prove otherwise as there are a large percentage of single residents also. Sharing experiences, socializing around pot luck dinners, and building new friendships with both singles and other residents is a way to create a “brand new family”.
For example, the Highland Lakes Singles Club plays shuffleboard and meet at a different restaurant every Saturday and all singles are invited to join in. Other activities during the year include pot luck dinners at the Community Center, card games, trips and many other opportunities to get together and have some FUN!
The Royal Harbor Singles Club was formed almost 3 years ago by Sandra Brandt. She encouraged the beginning of pot luck dinners that were rotated between Pringle communities, so that residents of the other Pringle communities had an opportunity to meet one another. Royal Harbor presently has about 30-35 singles who are interested in getting together, and house parties are often planned to welcome new single residents that move into the community.
Legacy of Leesburg also has a Singles Club under the direction of Angel Barbieri, who herself is a very active member of many clubs in the community. This group holds monthly meetings that bring together the 30 or more singles that have moved into Legacy.
It is expected that Lakes of Mt. Dora and The Heritage communities will also have Singles Clubs as homes are completed and neighborhoods develop. Some of the people that have already purchased lots in these newly-developing communities are single people who wish to enjoy the many benefits of being a homeowner and living in an Active Adult Pringle community.
