Those Who've Come Before You...

Bobbi Griffith

Bobbi Griffith, a resident of Royal Harbor, has spent a lot of time “flying high” as a Flight Attendant for almost 40 years before she retired three years ago. She began her flying career with Eastern Airlines, completing a total of 24 years; followed by another 14 years with United Airlines. Over her career, she has met several celebrity passengers and has made many friends. Bobbi was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Due to her job changes, she had the opportunity to live in different parts of the country; Miami, San Francisco, and areas of Virginia and Atlanta.

At the present time, Bobbi is renting a home in Royal Harbor as she awaits the completion of her Colchester model home. Living in the community where her new home will be built has given her the opportunity to meet her neighbors and other singles.

Sharing experiences, socializing around pot luck dinners, and building new friendships with both singles and other residents is a way to create a “brand new family”.

There are many reasons why people have parties – birthdays, graduations, New Years, etc. However, this special party was called a “Windfall” party. All of the attendees have or will begin to receive their first Social Security check in 2006, their well earned and welcomed “windfall”.

Finlay's Restaurant

It seems that there is a “new kid on the block” or rather, a new restaurant in Lake County. Finlay’s Restaurant opened its doors to the dining public March 8th on Hwy 441 in Eustis and in a short time has become a popular dining spot.

The proprietor of this new restaurant is Edgar Payne, who also owns The Gables and Sunshine Bakery, both located in Mount Dora. The name “Finlays” is a tribute to the two brothers who gave Edgar a start in the restaurant business back in his native Scotland.
