Visitors to Mt. Dora, looking for a great buffet, are encouraged to try Hunt’s End Restaurant. This restaurant has been at the same location for many years, but came under new ownership in November 2007.
The “all you can eat” buffet begins by picking up a chilled salad plate from a cooler and proceeding to the salad bar where your choices include: various greens, fresh veggies, pasta and macaroni salads, coleslaw, fruit and Jell-O combinations…and there is always a soup of the day available.
On the day I was there the hot buffet choices included fried chicken, large BBQ ribs, and fish, with several hot vegetable selections. They offer hot carved meats on various days for either lunch or dinner (i.e.…turkey, lamb, ham, pork, meat loaf, chicken and roast beef). Drinks and wonderful warm bread are served at the table.
A special added feature is the separate ethnic food buffet tables. Monday features Oriental food, Tuesday - Mexican and Wednesday - Italian. These items were located at a different serving area and is included in the overall cost of the buffet. On special days like Mother’s Day, Prime Rib is added to the menu.
Hunt’s End Restaurant is located at 315 N. Highland Street in Mount Dora and is open for breakfast (7 – 10 AM), lunch (11 – 2 PM) and dinner (3 – 8:30 PM).
