ISLAND CLUBHOUSE GRAND OPENING

The Lakes of Mount Dora moved a big step forward during the week of April 14, 2008. The event was the Grand Opening of the Island Clubhouse, which was received with much enthusiasm.

On April 15th, the residents enjoyed a pre-grand opening party where they had an opportunity to meet their neighbors and tour their beautiful new Clubhouse. The Grand Opening for the public was held on Saturday and visitors were welcomed to explore the multi-purpose facility. The clubhouse has a Ballroom for large gatherings, such as dinners, stage entertainment and other events. In addition, everyone was awed by the large designer walk-in pool attached to a four lane competition lap pool. Other rooms in this six million dollar complex are a high-tech computer room with high-speed internet; large library and reading room; fitness and exercise room overlooking the pool area; billiards and game room with a separate card room; and men's and women's locker rooms and shower facilities.

It has evolved into a three-part sport which includes dressage, a cross-country marathon and a “cones” obstacle course.
