Those Who've Come Before You...By Frank Denzler

Jim Hamilton moved to Central Florida 5 years ago when he and his wife discovered Royal Harbor on beautiful Lake Harris, far away from the busy Florida coastal cities.

Jim was born in Brooklyn but grew up in Hyattsville, Maryland. He served his country as a Radioman in the Navy and pursued communications with Northeast Airlines (now Delta Airlines), ending his career as a Supervisor in their IT (Information Technologies) division.

Soon after settling in their new home, Jim’s wife Ann passed away from an illness and Jim wasn’t sure he wanted to stay in their new home, so far away from family. (His son and grandchildren live in Georgia.) He decided to give his new life a chance at Royal Harbor and began developing new friends through the Royal Harbor Singles Club, and getting involved in community activities, swimming, card games and social events.

Some of Jim’s interests are motorcycling (he is pictured on his 2001, 1500 Kawasaki), and antique cars and boats. Twice a year Zephyrhills hosts a huge antique car show here in central Florida, where you will surely see Jim checking out the displays. Jim has owned two antique cars in the past, a 1948 Plymouth and a 1964 T-Bird. Beside Zephyrhills, Central Florida has quite a few antique car shows attracting visitors from all over the Southeast.

I forgot to mention that Jim enjoys dinning out... he’s not much of a cook... ”If you can’t nuke it, I don’t buy it!” is his philosophy. And with all of the wonderful restaurants here in central Florida I’m sure he has discovered a few favorites.
