 The Annual Spring Tour of Gardens, sponsored by the Leesburg Center for the Arts, brought visitors to the area to see a number of private gardens that displayed a variety of beautiful plants and flowers.
Visitors began the self-guided tour by purchasing tickets at a local garden center and received a detailed map of the six gardens located throughout Leesburg. Along with the map was a brief description of the dominant plants at each garden, and there were local artists also at every garden painting the garden scene.
One of the stops on the tour was a visit to one of the finest historical homes in Leesburg, built in 1877; this home has been preserved by its owner and included a shady entrance with towering tree ferns, a landscaped pool and patio and a hidden garden.
Each garden provided a beautiful setting that demonstrated the hard work the owners have done to enhance their property.
This event is one of the many activities that the city of Leesburg has presented as it continues to celebrate this year’s Sesquicentennial celebration.
