The Summer Months Offer Visitors and Residents a Wide Range of Fun
Activities!
The temperatures may be a little warmer this
time of the year, but there are all sorts of indoor and outdoor
activities planned for the upcoming summer months.
To start off the month of July, there are
several events scheduled for the Fourth of July. Mt. Dora will celebrate
the 4th with a parade and fireworks, and a Kids Fest in the afternoon at
Gilbert Park. A Jazz Fest will take place at the historic Lakeside Inn
on the same day. At Uncle Donald’s Farm in Lady Lake, a Parade of
Animals Festival will include hayrides, pony rides, goat milking and a

Those Who've Come Before You |

For
many years, the Hetus visited Central Florida in their 38 foot RV when
the weather in Michigan turned cold. But like many “Snowbirds” before
them, they ended the migrating when they decided to make Florida their
home.
Rene’
and Judy became familiar with Pringle Development while visiting friends
who already lived in the area. They learned that if they built a home in
a Pringle Development, they could custom-design any model to their
liking. They could even provide their own set of plans to be built on a
Pringle lot. Which is precisely what they did, and they couldn’t be
happier with the results.

The
Cottage Inn Restaurant
Word of mouth advertising (no pun intended) recently encouraged us to
try a “down-home style” restaurant called the Cottage Inn.
Ida and Hugh Johnson, originally from Baltimore, Md., opened the Cottage
Inn about four years ago nearby in Lady Lake. They came to Florida in
1988 and operated other businesses in the Orlando area prior to opening
the Cottage Inn.
Hugh, who is a flying enthusiast, earned his pilot’s license at age 50.
Once their family was raised, they wanted to live in a “flying
community”, so they moved to this area and opened the restaurant.

Fine
Wine, Music, and Sunshine... For What More Could We Ask?
Most people are familiar with the wines that are bottled in California
and New York State. However, Florida is also high on the list of states
that produce some of our nation’s finest wines.
Actually, there are eleven wineries located across Florida, extending
from Destin, in the Panhandle, to Alva, near Naples in the south. These
wineries have developed a variety of wines as a result of years of
research conducted by the Florida Grape Growers Association. They have
developed grapes that are specifically adapted to Florida conditions,
and the results speak for themselves.
