Those Who’ve Come Before You

Back to Articles

When Ron and Barbara Cenderelli arrived at Royal Harbor for the first time, they had a strong feeling that this was the community for them. After seeing the shimmering backdrop of Little Lake Harris, the lighthouse at the top of the hill, and all of the amenities at the new Recreation Center, they were convinced that their search for a retirement home had ended.

Ron and Barbara lived in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania (which happens to be the same town that Perry Como and Bobby Vinton came from), which is located near Pittsburgh. They lived for a short time in Boston, MA, then Denville, NJ, and finally moved back to the town of Yardley, PA.

Ron spent 36 years working for the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company (A&P). He began as a clerk and eventually became Vice President of Operations, dealing with sales and marketing. After his retirement, they remained in PA for seven years before moving to Florida. During those years, he obtained a Real Estate license and a Commercial Drivers license.

Barbara is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and is certified to practice in Florida. She was a homemaker for the couple’s five children and also worked part time at a number of local hospitals. She also gave twenty years of service to a Retirement Community Health Center.

One of their daughters lives in Mass-achusetts, another in Bucks County, PA, and the third in Georgia. One of their sons also lives in PA, and the other lives in the state of Washington. They have a total of two granddaughters and eight grandsons.

Ron’s interest in swimming, boating and baseball are some of the things that attracted him to Royal Harbor. He enjoys swimming in the large pool at the Recreation Center, and he’s looking forward to using the nearby lakes for boating. He is a member of the Tavares Softball team, and since he’s also a very avid Pirates fan, he enjoys watching them practice in Bradenton during Spring Training.

Both Ron and Barbara enjoy traveling, so Ron also assists the community Travel Club in coordinating some of their trips.

Barbara serves as a volunteer at the Recreation Center office, and she enjoys a variety of crafts, including quilting. She uses her training as a LPN working part time at an assisted living facility. Whenever possible, she likes to read and keep up on her gardening skills. Both Ron and Barbara are hoping to become involved in the Medical Ministries at the First Baptist Church in Leesburg in the near future.

The Cenderelli’s learned about Pringle Community when they saw an ad in “Where to Retire” magazine. They eventually obtained a booklet that gave them a lot of useful information about living in Central Florida. But they had already decided to settle somewhere in this area after seeing Lake County’s rolling hills and lakes during previous trips to Florida.

Even though they have lived in Royal Harbor for only six months, they have found their neighbors to be very friendly people who enjoy socializing on a daily basis. In addition, they expressed high praise for Pringle Development’s excellent Design Center, where they gained assistance in custom-designing their new Marathon model home.

Ron said:

"We have built a total of five homes up north before we came to Florida, and Pringle Development is the best builder that we have dealt with."
