There were celebrations galore as most areas of Central Florida celebrated the Fourth of July.
Each town had its share of food, concerts and other activities for both adults and children, followed by fireworks after dark. Added excitement was the launching of the Space Shuttle to celebrate the continuation of the space program.
Within each of the Pringle communities, a variety of activities brought residents together to celebrate this great holiday. For example, in Highland Lakes, a pot luck dinner was held at the clubhouse, followed by live entertainment.
This year’s celebration in Royal Harbor began with a golf cart parade around the community. At 10 AM, about 40 decorated golf carts and private cars arrived at the clubhouse to line up for the parade.

Residents had a chance to socialize and look over the colorfully decorated golf carts before the parade began.
As the golf carts and the cars traveled around the community, many residents came out of their homes to greet the participants and to cheer them on as they traveled around the streets.
Later in the day, the various States Clubs met for an “Across America” Barbecue Party at the clubhouse.
The Mid-West, the West Coast/Mountain States, and the New York/New Jersey Clubs came together in their first joint event to celebrate the holiday. As the dark hours approached, everyone gathered at Royal Harbor’s lighthouse, where the view of neighboring town’s fireworks was an extraordinary way to end the day’s celebration.
