CELEBRATION

FOURTH OF JULY

There were celebrations galore as most areas of Central Florida celebrated the Fourth of July.

Each town had its share of food, concerts and other activities for both adults and children, followed by fireworks after dark. Added excitement was the launching of the Space Shuttle to celebrate the continuation of the space program.

Within each of the Pringle communities, a variety of activities brought residents together to celebrate this great holiday. For example, in Highland Lakes, a pot luck dinner

Those Who've Come Before You...

Ron and Marva Turner

The active lifestyle that Royal Harbor residents enjoy can be well illustrated by the daily activities of Ron and Marva Turner.

Ron can be seen walking with a group of residents who “pick him up” as they pass by his home most mornings. Along with his regular walks, he enjoys spending time in Harbor’s fitness center and billiard room, gardening, and is getting into both golf and fishing.

Marva enjoys doing consulting work in the field of education and serves on the Board for the Lake County Children’s Services Council.

GARDEN CLUB Ice Cream Social

Enjoying a self-made ice cream sundae on a sunny Sunday afternoon is a great way to meet and socialize with other members in a community.

This was the approach that the Legacy of Leesburg Garden Club used recently to inform residents about the goals and activities of the club. Vic’s Embers Supper Club

One of the better local restaurants that has stood the “test of time” is Vic Donahey’s Vic’s Embers Supper Club, providing excellent fine dining in the Leesburg area for almost 18 years.

One of the first things to note about the restaurant is the very extensive menu. Several pages comprise the list of menu choices, which includes all types of seafood, veal and chicken entrees as well as their popular steaks and prime ribs. You will be personally greeted by either Vic or his son, Vic III, .to make sure that you have a fine dining experience with excellent food and service.

Activity Corner - Community Programs

The sky’s the limit for activities in the Pringle Communities. The activities programs in each of our communities are tailor-made to a particular community’s unique lifestyle, culture, amenities, and the desires of its residents. Unlike many other area active adult communities, we strive to provide what we like to call “self-sustaining” activities programs. This means that your Activity Directors are on-hand help to oversee, shepherd, and facilitate the activities programs while giving residents the most say-so in the operation and perpetuation of activities, clubs, and events. If you, as a resident, want to see, or better yet, help to form a new activity, contact your Activity Director, and they will be more than happy to not only help you get up and running but to assure that your activity is the best and most fun it can possibly be!

-William Bitters, Activity Director
