You can be sure that whenever you meet someone from Wisconsin, they are avid Green Bay Packer fans, like Wayne and Barbara Engelbert. The couple lived in Milwaukee for many years before retiring in Florida.
Wayne began his career working for Cooper Industries. He completed a total of 37 years working in the area of developing electrical equipment. He also served in the Army Reserves for 27 years, reaching the rank of Sgt. Major, the highest rank possible for a non-commissioned officer.
Barb's employment experience extends to several areas. She has worked as a secretary or assistant for a car dealership, a high school, a music theatre and ski resort. She was employed by the Circulation Dept. for Indycar Racing Magazine before coming to Florida.
They are the proud parents of four - a daughter and a son who live in Milwaukee, another son who lives in Utah, and their oldest daughter who lives in Melbourne, Florida.
In addition to being Packers fans, Wayne and Barbara enjoy following NASCAR and local racing events. In Milwaukee, they helped establish a memorial for Alan Kulwicki, the NASCAR champion who was killed in a plane crash. Here in Florida, they've spent many hours serving on the board of the Q-Motor Sports Student Racing Scholarship Program, which has helped many students attain their college goals.
Wayne can be found at least twice a week on one of the many golf courses in the area, and also enjoys table tennis. He is presently serving as Precinct Representative in the Legacy community. Barbara is Vice-Chairman and Treasurer of the Amenities Committee, and she is a willing volunteer when she is needed to help others in some of the community activities.
The Engelbert's introduction to a Pringle community was when they visited Royal Highlands in 1996. After living in Spring Hill for a few years, they became interested in finding a retirement community that had active adults. Pringle's excellent reputation brought them to Legacy of Leesburg, where they found the home of their dreams in the Colchester Model home. "The opportunity to make changes in the design of our home is one of several reasons why we liked Pringle, and we are extremely pleased with the final product,"said Barbara. When friends of the Engelberts saw the benefits of a Pringle home, they also had their retirement home built in Legacy. The nice neighbors and the social opportunities that exist in Legacy of Leesburg make it a perfect place for Barbara and Wayne to enjoy their retirement years.
