For 15 years, John and Arlene Malik, owners of Gator Harley-Davidson in Leesburg and Stormy Hill Harley-Davidson in Clermont have been providing both sales and service of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Two generations of Malik’s have run the day-to-day operations since 1993.
To celebrate their anniversary, the dealership held a Gatorville Island Party on August 2nd with a Margaritaville theme. The crowd enjoyed a variety of activities including mud wrestling, tattoo contest, dunk tank, helicopter rides, car show and a custom bike show inside the dealership. The bikini contest drew a lot of attention with six ladies competing for cash prizes.
In 1979, the Inn was closed for a year for the filming of “Honky Tonk Freeway”. The Inn was painted pink and an Indian elephant was taught to water ski on Lake Dora. Imagine that!
MotorProUSA performed a motorcycle safety demonstration, and many vendors were on hand selling motorcycle accessories. Food and refreshments were provided by Vic’s Embers and Deputy Dog. Donations were gratefully accepted to benefit the Disabled American Veterans. Both dealerships have continuous events and festivities for the motorcycle enthusiast with proceeds benefiting charities.
