For 15 years, John and Arlene Malik, owners of Gator Harley-Davidson in Leesburg and Stormy Hill Harley-Davidson in Clermont have been providing both sales and service of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Two generations of Malik’s have run the day-to-day operations since 1993.
To celebrate their anniversary, the dealership held a Gatorville Island Party on August 2nd with a Margaritaville theme. The crowd enjoyed a variety of activities including mud wrestling, tattoo contest, dunk tank, helicopter rides, car show and a custom bike show inside the dealership. The bikini contest drew a lot of attention with six ladies competing for cash prizes.

Calling all resident actors and actresses and wanna-be actors and actresses…community theatre is definitely “live” and flourishing in two Pringle communities, Legacy of Leesburg and Royal Harbor.
Both of the community groups, Theatre Legacy and Lighthouse Players, have approximately 20 residents interested in performing on stage or assisting behind the scenes…some with acting experience, others just enjoy being a part of live theatre.

Wow, it’s hard to believe that a year has scooted by since we opened our doors offering financing opportunities to Pringle clients…they say, time flies when you’re having fun.
It’s been a challenging year, to say the least, with all the major changes in the mortgage industry and change isn’t always a bad thing. The changes that are taking placing are getting the industry back to sound basic practices requiring good credit scores for applicants, with debt to income requirements that make sense. While watching the Olympics last month, our local NBC affiliate, WESH 2, broadcasted from the National Training Center (NTC) in Clermont. Surprise, surprise…right next door to Leesburg, in Clermont, we have a facility with world-wide recognition.
NTC, owned by South Lake Hospital, is part of a 300-acre sports, health, fitness and education campus which is unique not only throughout Florida, but also throughout the world. From a human performance lab to a state-of-the-art fitness center and aquatic center, track & field complex, cross-country course, multi-purpose athletic fields and softball/baseball quadraplex, the NTC is dedicated to making a difference in the health and well-being of individuals at all athletic levels and stages of life.

Orchids have become very popular and thrive under normal household and office temperatures. We thought we would feature the most common variety, Phalaenopsis, and include simple instructions for extending their beautiful life.
From the time the first flower bud opens, the sprays will remain in bloom for the next 2 to 3 months. Ideally, they prefer light from the east or lightly shaded southern exposure.
Often a kitchen or bathroom will provide sufficient humidity…humidity trays may be needed for other locations.

MELON PATCH THEATRE |

The Melon Patch Players are happy to announce the schedule for the 2008/2009 Season.
This local theatre group began in 1951, and has been presenting theatre productions each year, in addition to offering Children’s Theatre classes that are held concurrent with the school semesters.
The schedule is as follows:
- September 2008 – The Man Who Came to Dinner – a dinner guest injures himself and has to stay at the Stanley home a lot longer than expected.
- December 2008 – Scrooge – a musical based on Charles Dickens tale, A Christmas Carol.
- Jan – Feb. 2009 – Oliver – a musical based on the Dickens novel.
- March 2009 – Butterflies are Free – A musician moves into a flat in New York and meets an actress who lives next door.
- May 2009 – Meet Me in St. Louis – The Smith Family attends the 1904 World’s Fair in this delightful musical show.
