A Day at the Central Florida
Zoological Park |
|
It's a Jungle Out There!
When visiting a zoo or animal park, most
people would recognize a leopard, an elephant or a cheetah. But how many
of us would recognize the serval, the spot-nosed guenon or the caracal?
These are just three of the more than 300

Bella Dora Italian Restaurant
One of the new additions to the area this year is Bella Dora Italian
Restaurant, located in a former fire and police station in nearby Mt.
Dora. The attractive building is set back a bit from the street and
offers ample parking in back. The restaurant consists of several small
rooms with scattered tables that can accommodate about 60 diners.
Louie Cappolla, who has more than 25 years of restaurant experience in
New York City, opened Bella Dora at the beginning of the year. It is
open seven days a week from 11 AM to 10 PM, and until 11 PM on weekend
nights, serving both lunch and dinner.

Royal Harbor Bear Club |
|
Among the many weekly activities that take place at Royal Harbor, there
are some that benefit not only the members themselves, but others as
well...
One of these activities is the Royal Harbor Bear Club, a group of
residents who meet weekly to make teddy bears and afghans for children
at the nearby Boggy Creek Camp. The camp was fashioned after the
Hole-in-the-Wall Gang Camp in Connecticut, which was founded by Paul
Newman and Norman Schwarzkopf. Boggy Creek is located on 232 wooded
acres housing 44 cracker-style buildings, a dining hall, medical center,
and recreation centers. The camp helps critically ill children cope with
the challenges they face by bringing them together in a variety of
activities.
