Those Who've Come Before You.:
Art and Sandy Bone

Back to Articles

When Sandy Bone of Royal Harbor arrives home from work, she never has to worry about what’s for dinner. Her husband Art, and her mother-in-law Marie Becker, who lives with them, are excellent cooks and share the chef’s hat responsibilities.

Sandy and Art (Sandy’s first boyfriend) were born in St. Louis, MO, and they were friends for many years, having met in the 8th grade. When they married, they lived in both Birmingham, Alabama and Florida before they finally settled in their Carlisle model home in Royal Harbor.

After serving in the U.S. Air Force in the early 60’s, Art was employed by the St. Louis Terminal Railroad as a brakeman/switchman, and also served as Union Secretary and Treasurer for twelve years. Sandy entered the foodservice industry by working first for Marx Brothers, a private label coconut manufacturer, followed by nine years as a Territory Manager for a Daytona foodservice distributor and returning to Marx Brothers as their Foodservice Sales Manager for the balance of her career.

Sandy became interested in working for Pringle Development, based on her love of sales and the reputation of the company as a family-owned business and now, an employee-owned company. She decided to obtain her real estate license with the intention of continuing her sales career. Instead, there was an opportunity to work in the Marketing department and at the present time, is the Marketing Coordinator.

Besides cooking, Art enjoys fresh water fishing, swimming, and is an avid reader. Sandy enjoys swimming, shelling, dancing, and is a member of Royal Harbor’s Swamp Stompers, a kitchen band. Art’s Mom keeps active in the community through the Women’s Club, Red Hat Society, and she is Treasurer of the Bear Club. (The Bear Club makes stuffed bears and afghans for the children at Camp Boggy Creek.)

Sandy and Art lived on a lake in Alabama and they were attracted to Royal Harbor because of the Central Florida location, away from the congested coastal areas but close enough to still enjoy the beaches, just a short drive away. They have been residents of Royal Harbor for more than a year and have built a new “family” of friends in their new community.
