There are many excellent restaurants that cater to the Mount Dora visitors. Café Attuare is one of those very cozy “hideaway” places tucked away on the second floor of 301 Baker Street, not far from the main avenue.
The restaurant has only about a dozen tables, yet it offers a sizeable menu. The large windows, colorful Italian décor make it a comfortable spot for an excellent meal and quiet conversation.
Café Attuare offers a large choice of appetizers, soups, salads, pizzas, as well as hot and cold subs. Seafood, veal, poultry, and pasta dishes, along with daily specials help to complete the menu. The dinner menu is more extensive than the lunch menu, offering more than 60 choices of Italian dishes.
On our visit, we chose a warm sea scallop salad and Veal Parmigiana for lunch. The scallops were very tasty, and the veal entrée was very plentiful with a homemade sauce. We had the opportunity to take advantage of their Italian desserts, (Cannoli, Spumoni or Tiramisu) however, the large entrees that we enjoyed fulfilled our appetites.
Because the restaurant is located on the second floor, there is an elevator that can be used instead of the outdoor stairway, and complimentary valet parking service is available.
Lunch is served from 11 AM until 3 PM Tuesday through Saturday, and the dinner hour begins at 5 PM every day except Monday.
