For Rosemary and Clark Kaskie of Royal Highlands, life has become an
interesting numbers game.
This is illustrated by the fact that before arriving in Florida, Clark
had lived in eight states, and Rosemary had lived in seven. Clark is the
father of 3 boys and 2 girls, and Rosemary is the mother of 5 boys and 5
girls. When Clark and Rosemary married in Cleveland in 1996, all 15
children were in attendance. Then, last February, all of Rosemary’s 10
children surprised her by visiting them in their new home in Royal
Highlands for her birthday.
The Kaskies are also hoping to see some large numbers when it comes to
the sales of a new product that Clark has recently invented. As an
experienced chemist, Clark invented a spray that deters deer, bear and
other small animals from destroying a homeowners’ landscaping. It is
biode-gradable and organic, so it does not injure the animals or the
environment.
The product’s development began in 1997 when Clark saw its need while
living in the Poconos in Pennsylvania (at the tender age of 80 years
young, we might add!). After supplying his neighbors with the product,
the word eventually spread and demand grew to a point where he felt it
was time to introduce it to a larger market. He is in the process of
doing that now.
Clark developed his training as a chemist while working for Monsanto
Chemical Co. for 23 years. He began as an analyst, but also served as a
supervisor involved with the Manhattan Project, which helped to develop
the atomic bomb. His other positions include Project Engineer of the
Organic Division in St. Louis, developing non-accounting applications
for the computer, and Assistant to the President of Allied Chemical in
New York.
Rosemary began her employment experience as a geologist for Texaco. As
her family grew, she became a busy home-maker (10 kids!), and she worked
as a licensed realtor for 27 years.
Now that the Kaskies have settled into their new Princess model home in
Royal Highlands, they are keeping themselves very active in the
community. Clark enjoys golf, fishing, gardening, and is an avid “market
watcher” on his home computer. He also gets together with his three sons
for fishing trips every year.
Rosemary was instrumental in forming the Royal Highlands Sharkettes,
which is the ladies billiards group that began two years ago. She also
started the Royal Highlands Enjoyable Art League (RHEAL), which had
their second art exhibit in October in the community Recreation Center.
Rosemary is a member of the Kitchen Band and the Red Hat Society, and
she can be found playing Duplicate Bridge at least three times a week.
Rosemary & Clark became familiar with Pringle Develop-ment when as
snowbirds, they rented a home in Highland Lakes for three winters. When
it was time to move to Florida permanently from the Poconos, they came
directly to Royal Highlands without looking at any other community.
“We had no doubts about building a Pringle home, since we were familiar
with the high quality of construction, and the style of the homes,” said
Rosemary.
After speaking to over 30 other residents in the community (more
numbers! ), they were pleased to hear them say that they all “felt right
at home in Royal Highlands”.
