Lakes of Mount Dora Pioneers

Jerry and Gail Feege are first to close and move into the newest Pringle community, Lakes of Mount Dora.

It was 10 AM on October 11th when a special meeting was about to take place in the offices of Pringle Development. Jerry and Gail Feege were there to close on their new home. What made this a special event is that the Feeges are the first pioneers to close and move into the first completed home in Pringle Development’s newest community, Lakes of Mount Dora. There was much excitement as Jerry and Gail signed the necessary papers and accepted the keys to their new Balmoral model home.

The Feeges had heard about the beauty and charm of the Mount Dora area, so they made use of the Internet to locate builders in the area. They were impressed with the Pringle reputation, and last year, they visited the area in their search for the perfect home.

Those Who've Come Before You...

Tom Gabriel

Tom Gabriel of Royal Harbor is one of those people you might see at some of the local flea markets. He enjoys searching for good buys and picking up collectibles. Tom has a variety of small collections, one of which is a collection of license plates from every state in the union, which are prominently displayed on his garage wall. In addition, he also refinishes furniture, enjoys bike riding and traveling (even though he claims that he has been around the world more than three times during his working years).

Tom lives near the Royal Harbor Lighthouse with his dog, Jake, a West Highland White Terrier (Westie). He serves the community as a member of the Grounds Committee, and enjoys the many social activities that take place in the Recreation Center.

The “Beauclaire” at Lakeside Inn

Those who enjoy a bit of nostalgia of a by-gone era will enjoy the ambience and dining experience at the “Beauclaire” located inside the Lakeside Inn.

This historic Inn is located on the shores of Lake Beauclaire in Mount Dora with 88 guest rooms and suites and an outdoor pool. It was built in 1883 and continued to expand well into the 1930s. It was a popular retreat for travelers to enjoy the scenery, birds and wildlife as well as good food. In need of respite, President Calvin Coolidge and his wife spent the winter there after his term was completed at the White House. Singers and performances of all types filled the bill for local entertainment.

Activity Corner - Citizen’s Academy

Congratulations to all of our Citizen’s Academy graduates (20 total graduates in all). These residents completed a 10-week session with the Leesburg Police Department. The dedication that these 20 residents have made towards improving the security in the community is amazing!

They were given courses in police operations including fraud, arresting procedures, traffic, crime prevention, fingerprinting, SWAT team and K9 Training. During the graduation, the Leesburg Police Department spoke of the devotion and hard work that the residents put into the course. They were very impressed with the care and concern that the residents at Legacy of Leesburg have for their neighbors. This group will be a great benefit to your community.

-Chad Peck, Activity Director
