 “Tell Your Spouse You’re Spending the Night With Us”. No, that is not the title of a movie, but it is the title of a free light luncheon lecture that was given by Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares on October 9th. This is one of a series of lectures called “Dining with the Doctor”, an educational program that informs visitors about a variety of medical issues.
This lecture focused on the latest research into sleep disorders, and Dr. Ahmed Jalloul described how the problems of sleep apnea are being addressed by modern research. The lecture was followed by a tour of the FHW Sleep Disorders Center that works with patients that are experiencing sleeping problems.
In November, future luncheon lectures include such topics as “Pneumonia Explained: What is it and How is it Contracted?”, “Hip Resurfacing” and “Ovarian Cancer Research”.
These lectures are only a small part of the educational programs that Florida Hospital Waterman provides to educate the public on the latest research and techniques used by the medical profession. A list of these programs is available at www.fhwat.org.
